How DIY Toolshare Works
-
Search for the Tool You Need
Browse our community listings to find the right tool for your project - anything from a ladder to a lawnmower. -
Can’t Find It Nearby? Create a Wishlist
If your required tool isn’t already listed, simply post a Wishlist request. Other locals will see what you need and can respond with an offer to rent. -
Agree the Details
Once you’ve found the tool or connected with someone through your Wishlist, agree on the rental dates and price directly in our platform. Use the messaging feature to coordinate. -
Simple, Secure Payments
Pay easily and securely online. We handle the transaction and take a small 20% service fee (minimum 50p) from the tool owner to keep DIY Toolshare running smoothly. -
Collect, Use, Return
Pick up your tool at the agreed time, complete your project, and return it in the same condition - ready for its next DIY adventure. -
Earn or Save
Owners earn extra income from underused tools, while borrowers save money (and space!) by renting instead of buying.
Why It Works:
- Saves money for borrowers.
- Creates income for owners.
- Builds stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.
- Reduces waste and promotes sustainability by reusing tools.
